Our commitment
Surplus.com Corporation aims to make its website and Sam workflows accessible to people with disabilities. Accessibility is part of how we approach design, development, and improvements to the service.
This policy covers the Surplus website and features we operate. It also explains how to report a barrier or request another way to access information.
The standard we work toward
Our accessibility goal is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines address needs including vision, hearing, movement, and understanding.
We have not completed a comprehensive accessibility audit of the entire service and do not claim full WCAG conformance. Some features and older pages may still present barriers. We use feedback and testing to identify improvements and prioritize issues that prevent people from completing essential tasks.
Using Surplus
Our design priorities include keyboard operation, visible focus, meaningful headings and labels, readable contrast, layouts that accommodate text enlargement, and clear feedback when an action succeeds or needs attention. These are ongoing priorities, not a claim that every feature has been fully tested with every assistive technology.
The current policy pages support the site’s light and dark settings. You can also use your browser’s zoom controls to enlarge text. If a display choice or interaction makes the service harder to use, tell us which page and setting are affected.
Marketplace and uploaded content
Independent marketplaces, embedded services, and seller-provided photos, videos, and documents may have accessibility limitations that we cannot directly change. Captions, image descriptions, or accessible document formats may be missing.
If that content prevents you from understanding an item or completing a task, contact us. We can discuss available assistance or an alternative format, and where appropriate raise the issue with the relevant provider. Availability depends on the content and provider; we cannot guarantee a third-party fix.
Report a barrier or request help
Use the email address or phone number on this page to report an accessibility issue or request help accessing information. You do not need a Surplus account or an SMS subscription to contact us.
If you can, include the page address, what you were trying to do, what happened, and how you would like us to respond. Browser, device, or assistive-technology details can help us reproduce the problem, but they are optional. Please do not send passwords, verification codes, financial account details, or medical information.
We will review your request, follow up if we need more information, and discuss the assistance or next steps available. We cannot promise immediate support or a resolution by a particular deadline. For an auction or pickup deadline, contact the responsible marketplace or seller directly as well.
Keeping this policy current
We will update this page as the service, accessibility work, or support options change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Feedback about barriers helps guide that work.
